November 4th: Meeting 1

Once again, Art Club kicks off with a bang- a massive turnout of 47 people. I myself see some familiar faces, as well as many new ones. While we do expect at least half of you to stop showing up, we understand. For those of you joining Art Club for the first time, this website might be very helpful as it will keep you both up to date on what you may have missed, or what will is coming up.

Keep in mind that the manager of this website is not perfect, and I strongly recommend coming to as many meetings as possible.

Today's meeting is primarily about what we are going to do throughout the year. We have two things that WILL happen: a Coffee Shop show and Art Awareness Week. As of now, we do not have a theme for the Coffee Shop show, and we are asking YOU to come up with one. This will be decided on November 18th.

The biggest challenge is for a theme that can be easily linked together. Past examples have been the theme of "Coffee" and "Stencil".

Current themes that have been suggested are: "Water" and "Video Games".

In addition, we are looking for ideas for this year's Art Awareness Week: Previous ideas have been: Coloring Contest, Leave paper and crayons on tables for people to color on, "Your face in a Masterpiece", "Eye/I" Pins, and a looping video.

This isn't till March, so there is no pressure to think of an idea just yet.

Other potential ideas for Art Club to do this year which worked in the past: Chalk art, Mini-galleries, a "Chain-Piece" aka gradually evolving painting, Holiday Arts (crafting), portfolio building, building websites to upload art, teaching each other how to draw, transformed an empty room into an Art Gallery, Art from teachers, but we are always open to ideas.

These ideas can be said during the 18th, after voting on the Coffee Show's theme.

We are not meeting on the 11th, as there is no school that day.

-The Secretary of Artistic Affairs
